Demo Reel
Demo reels…a necessary evil. How am I supposed to communicate to you my passion for telling great stories? Showcase the stories that drive me? And display my talents for balancing a budget, organizing a feature film shoot, contracts, working with unions, COVID compliance, etc., all in 30 seconds???? I would really like an answer. But for those who want it, my demo reel will go here soon…

A Place Called Home
FEATURE – Complete – Release expected 2021
After losing his wife during the birth of his second child, Levi is found raising two young girls. However, when forced to borrow money from a ruthless loan shark, he must fight to save his family and the home his family was made in.
I was one of the Producers and also the Assistant Director of this indie film. We shot for one month in rural Kentucky in one of the most breathtaking landscapes I have ever seen. We completed filming in 2019, the summer before the pandemic. Post-production was completed in 2020, and this film is currently on the festival circuit seeking a distribution deal.

The Runaway
FEATURE – In Pre-production
A missing child. Every cop’s worst nightmare. But when no one else seems to care, what will you risk to ensure another life is not lost?
I am one of the producers of this film, and we are currently in pre-production and seeking investors. This film is a period piece from the same writer/director of A Place Called Home. It features a strong female lead of color unwilling to sacrifice another life to the system.
Stay tuned for more updates.

Fine In Dandee
SCRIPTED PODCAST – Ongoing – 2020 to Present
Big hair, big gossip, and big problems, all in small town life. After the death of her mother, Tracy Danvers moves back to the small hometown she thought she had escaped for good. Now she is faced with living here for the foreseeable future, rekindling old friendships, and fending off old enemies, all while unraveling a mystery about the mother she barely knew.
With much of the production world shut down in 2020, I decided to launch a podcast – something I could write and create remotely with friends, no matter where they lived. So I gathered a stellar team of actors and writers, and we debuted the show in May 2020. Now we are nearly done with our first 26 episode season! This podcast has been a joy to write and produce, and I’m looking forward to future seasons.
Take a listen here, or wherever you listen to podcasts. New episodes are released bi-weekly.

WEB-SERIES – Released 2018
A new virtual reality game. The girl of your dreams. Too bad you live to far away to meet IRL.
This was a fun 6-episode web-series that my team and I did a few years ago. I was the writer and the producer, and this project serves as a proof of concept/exploration of an idea I have for a much larger (think Netflix) and longer series. We filmed across 3 weekends, and a highlight was getting to work alongside several of my film students and seeing them tackle real-world filmmaking challenges.
You can enjoy the budding of this young romance. Start the first episode today on YouTube.

Park Place Schools
DOCUMENTARY SHORTS – Released 2017 to 2019 – Non-profit
I produced and edited a few fundraising videos for this wonderful group out of Norfolk, Virginia. I am just as passionate about their mission to help children in education. Please take a look at their page and maybe support their cause. These videos were used at their internal galas to show what the school was accomplishing to help kids succeed.

Virtually Free
DOCUMENTARY SHORT – 2019 *award winning
Every year about 300,000 kids are confined in youth detention in the US, limiting their potential to succeed in life. 70-80% will be re-arrested within 2 or 3 years of being released and nearly 2/3 will never complete high school. Richmond, Virginia’s families, police, judges, artists, and activists have united to change this in their own community. Virtually Free is a documentary about unlikely allies who partner to transform the juvenile justice system and stop mass incarceration. Produced by the non-profit media company Shine Global, Virtually Free is directed by André Robert Lee In the film, we meet Sid, Taee, and AR, three teens currently being held in a Richmond, VA detention center who are offered the chance to become activists speaking truth to power. Participating in a local arts organizations’ program, Performing Statistics, they are taught by different artists to deliver their powerful, authentic messages to the public, law enforcement, and government officials using their art, including a virtual reality jail cell they’ve helped create.
I was a field producer on this project in Richmond, VA. It was a great honor helping these fine folks share a story that is all too common and virtually never talked about. We have another pandemic here in our country that locks up our kids. It’s time to share their stories.
